So West Asheville! This traditional house plan was spiced with some non traditional design ideas. A solid charming 3 bedroom and 2 1/2 baths we built in the heart of West Asheville. We were able to get the city to let us save the old garage that went with the old house on the original tract. Our intention was to make it affordable for a working couple to buy. That is just what happened and then they had the cutest baby. That part of construction makes it so much sweeter.
So many fun features to talk about. One of our favorite counter tops we’ve installed, a hunk of wood slab, sanded and varnished yet leaving the bark side to face the dining room. That was a touch of rustic into a contemporary structure. Also the tile that framed the fireplace was super sexy and glossy. The custom cabinets are always by Brian and my goodness always a treat. He made us some floating corner shelves that we all loved.
The windows on this home were perfect for it’s southern exposure orientation. Lots and lots of light.
The glass light doors to all the bedrooms and the closets looked really good, not only at night but in the day as well. We decided to incorporate a little aged tin roofing material to the gable and we were all pleased with the look. The colors were non traditional and the siding was mixed which we now favor. Made 116 Hudson stand out just a bit. Got a touch of funky which is so West Asheville.
We were able to save the cherry trees and all of us, including the buyers and the birds were super happy about that.
All in all, 116 Hudson was sort of like candy. Sweet and delicious.
